Head of Human Rights Centre Dr. Evhen Tsybulenko took part at the Conference on the draft United Nations Declaration on the Right to Peace. The conference was held in Oświecim (Poland) on May 16, 2013.

The Conference was co-hosted by the Cities of Plonsk, Oswiecim and Wielun and co-organized by the Poznan Human Righ...ts Centre (Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Spanish Society for International Human Rights Law (SSIHRL), the International Observatory of the Human Right to Peace (IOHRP) and the University Abat Oliba (Barcelona) with the support of the International Association of Peace Messenger Cities (IAPMC) and the World Council of Churches (WCC), the main civil society and academic organizations conducting CSOs participation in the ongoing codification process of the right to peace.

The Purpose of the conference was to bring together Polish and other Eastern European experts from the SSIHRL, the IOHRP, the WCC, the IAPMC and the University Abat Oliba, to review and provide written input to the UN Human Rights Council on the draft UN Declaration on the Right to Peace. In addition, by making the conference accessible to Eastern European and other student observers, to provide a learning opportunity for students.

Oswiecim Declaration on the Human Right to Peace was adopted by the Conference.
